Übung: „Inventing Nature“ – Einblicke in die kuratorische Praxis / "Inventing Nature" – Insights into curatorial practice

Im Anschluss an die Übung im vergangenen Semester befassen wir uns weitergehend mit Präsentations- und Vermittlungsformen und den Inhalten der Ausstellung „Inventing Nature“ in der Staatlichen Kunsthalle Karlsruhe. Sie konfrontiert Pflanzendarstellungen aus 500 Jahren Kunstgeschichte und damit Interpretationen von Natur. Die Übung findet im Seminarraum, aber vor allem auch vor Ort in der Kunsthalle im Umgang mit den Originalen statt. Die Veranstaltung ist vor allem als Fortsetzung für Teilnehmer der Übung im WS 2019 gedacht.

Following on from the exercise in the previous semester, we will deal further with forms of presentation and mediation and the contents of the exhibition "Inventing Nature" at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe. It confronts plant representations from 500 years of art history and thus interpretations of nature. The exercise takes place in the seminar room, but above all also on site in the Kunsthalle in dealing with the originals. The event is primarily intended as a continuation for participants of the exercise in WS 2019.
